GermGuardian® air purifier filters can last up to 6-months. However, there are several factors that can impact the lifespan of the filter.
- How "dirty" is the air the unit is purifying (dirtier air = less life from the filter)
- How often is the unit ran (using the unit more, will cause the filter to clean the air more often)
- Has the filter been cleaned (frequently vacuuming the carbon filter can increase the lifespan)
If you find that your filter is triggering the replace filter indicator on your unit, please note that it will not last for longer duration if it is filtering a lot of pollutants in the air. The filter is not defective, nor is the unit. The filter on the unit filters the air. If the air has more pollutants, it was last less than if there are less pollutants. This functions the same way that air filter in a home HVAC unit works.
Please note, triggering the change/replace filter indicator is not a defect with the unit, or the filter and will not be covered under the warranty.
