There are two types of air purification, Passive and active.
Active air purifiers emit negatively charged ions into the air. This causes air pollutants to adhere to surfaces. This is also known as ionizing.
Passive air purification units use filters to remove air-bound pollutants. Passive purifiers are more widely more efficient since all the dust and particles are removed from the air by the filters. Most Passive units have multiple stages of filtration, which can include charcoal, HEPA and others. .
