This filtered box fan is ideal for use in removing pollen and dust particles. This fan can also be used to eliminate up to 50% of smoke in an environment such as a kitchen or living room. This is not considered a whole house fan and rather is designed for use in a single room. The MERV and CADR ratings are not such that they will remove all smoke given the fine levels of particulates. These units should not be used in heavy smoke environments.
When replacing the filter, we recommended using a MERV 7 or MERV 10 filter as a higher rated MERV filter can decrease the airflow coming from the fan. Sizing is 20x20x1 for the filter.
